Writing about Writing: A Journey into my Psyche

Writing about Writing
I write because I need to write
Staying up all hours of the night
Venting until the skies turn light
And I finally feel alright
Writing on demand is so frustrating
Redoing, rewriting, and aggravating
Struggling with articulating
Stuck on details, fixating
Writing should occur with a stroke of inspiration
Like the crash and boom resulting in creation
In this age of instant gratification
I want it now! No hesitation
When I write, my soul breaks off a little piece
But like sharing a flame, it doesn't decrease
It's paradise and a sweet release
Finally finding peace
I write for myself to confront my fears
Not for a paycheck and not for the cheers
I write to let out all of my tears
And it's kept me going throughout the years
